MaRINET2 opens registration for the eighth course in ocean renewables

After the success of the first courses offered by the MaRINET2 project consortium, the international project continues to develop its training program in the offshore renewable energy sector.

The short courses, lasting two to five days, are aimed at industry researchers and academics in the offshore renewable energy sector. The courses are organized and taught by the MaRINET2 project partners, and will focus on three areas: wind, wave and tidal energy.

The topics include integrated tank tests, hydrodynamics of fixed and floating turbine foundations, reliability and risk analysis of marine renewable energy technologies, as well as testing and verification processes from the tank to the sea.

The courses are aimed at early-stage researchers and graduate students, as well as participants from industry and the private sector. Courses are free, and travel and subsistence grants are available for master’s and doctoral students, as well as for early-stage researchers.

More information about the program, location and duration of courses is available on the MaRINET2 website, which will be updated constantly.

MaRINET2 is a € 10.5m project, funded by Horizon 2020, coordinated by MaREI (Marine and Renewable Energy Ireland) at University College of Cork. The project aims to accelerate the development of marine renewable energy technologies by providing free access to a network of 57 research centres across Europe.
